Mary Marg Helgenberger (born November 16th, 1958) is an American actress. She started her acting career around the turn of the decade, and was noticed initially for the part she played in Siobhan Rooney from 1982 to 1986 in the drama daytime Ryan's Hope. The most well-known of her roles is the role she played as Catherine Willows in the CBS police procedural drama. Crime Scene Investigation (2000-13) and then the follow-up TV movie Immortality (2015). Her role was reprised by its sequel Vegas (2022-present). Helgenberger was also known for her role of K.C. The actress won an Emmy Award in 1990 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series as a result of her work in the role of Koloski on China Beach, an ABC series China Beach from 1988 to 1991. Her other credits include TV drama Under the Dome (1998) as well as Intelligence (1995) and as well as the films Species (2000) Erin Brockovich (2000) & Mr. Brooks (2007). The eldest of four children. McCain has attended the Phoenix Country Day School, an all-girls, private Catholic school. In 2007 she earned her bachelor's in art history at Columbia University. The View was her home since The View in 2017 and host the show for a period of time until 2021. McCain was awarded four Daytime Emmy nominations. Her other projects McCain began writing columns for the Daily Mail newspaper after her three years at The View.
