David Muir (born August 25 1948) is a famous American anchor, journalist and reporter. He is most well-known for World News Tonight. Its dramatic video footage and the animated movements has made it the top popular newscast in the United States. Made In America was nominated for an Emmy. His predecessor, Diane Sawyer's anchor of choice until he was appointed anchor at ABC World News Tonight. His reports on primetime for ABC News include Breaking Point: Heroin in America, Flashpoint: Refugees in America. He's been to a variety of countries around the globe covering the latest news. From Gaza Egypt Iran Somalia Japan Peru Ukraine Haiti, and the Gulf of Mexico. His accolades include several Edward R. Murrow Awards and honors by the Associated Press.
